The Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Mukhtar Maiha, has called on EcoGold Company, manufacturers of animal fattening and nutrition products, to urgently establish a production facility in Nigeria to strengthen the country’s animal feed sector.
The minister made this appeal during a working visit by the Chief Executive Officer of EcoGold Company, Mr. Martins Nwaege, and his management team at his office in Abuja.
Minister Maiha disclosed that the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development is actively implementing strategic initiatives aimed at transforming Nigeria’s livestock industry. These initiatives include the development of modern abattoirs, large-scale pasture cultivation, feedlots for animal fattening, ranching systems, and expanded animal health coverage nationwide.
While assuring EcoGold Company of the ministry’s readiness to partner with reputable private-sector players, the minister emphasized the need for local production of animal fattening products. He noted that Nigeria currently spends millions of dollars annually on the importation of animal feeds, adding that establishing an EcoGold factory in Nigeria would significantly reduce import dependency, create jobs, and support sustainable livestock development.
“Let us leverage this and see what we can come up with”…..the minister maintained.
He added, “We want to partner with you and ensure that the product goes nationwide.”
The minister also advised EcoGold to organize regular stakeholder engagements to enhance awareness and ensure the effective promotion and adoption of its products across the livestock value chain.
Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EcoGold Company, Mr. Martins Nwaege, assured the minister that the proposed animal feed production factory in Nigeria would become operational within the next two years. He disclosed that Nigeria would serve as the company’s pilot country, with plans to expand operations to other African nations thereafter.
Mr. Nwaege further emphasized that the initiative would generate significant employment opportunities, particularly for women and youths, thereby contributing to economic growth and sustainable development.
The CEO also confirmed that EcoGold products have been fully certified by the National Animal Production Research Institute (NAPRI), reaffirming the company’s commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

I love this theme. Sometimes it’s difficult to work with some themes, because even if they are created with Elementor, you can’t edit all the things with Elementor. Is not the case of Bili. All is created with Elementor and you don’t need Elementor Pro. Definitely recommended.
They have really taken their time to work appearance of the theme, also, they have a very interactive client assistance service, I like!
